Climate Justice Advocacy & Lobbying Teach-In Day
Youth on Root invites all California Youth to this special event!
When: Friday, July 26 · 10am - 4pm PDT
Where: University of California, Irvine
Join us for an empowering one-day event as Mockingbird Incubator collaborates with Youth on Root, the UCI C.L.I.M.A.T.E. Justice Initiative, and the Bill Anderson Fund to present a day of training on Advocacy and Lobbying for youth climate justice organizers. This teach-in will educate youth, activists, and organizations on the nuances of advocacy and lobbying, as well as provide them with the essential tools to engage in effective advocacy and lobbying efforts, particularly in the realm of climate policy and environmental justice.
Why Attend?
This event will teach students, youth climate activists, organizers, and other nonprofits looking to train environmental activists the difference between advocacy and lobbying, how to choose which path is appropriate for their cause, and how to advocate and/or lobby for meaningful change effectively. This is especially important in the environmental justice field because of the intersectional nature of climate change and its impact on historically marginalized communities and disenfranchised groups.
This is an in-person event. Please ensure you can attend before reserving your spot.
